Carla maintains a private voice studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York as well as online via Skype. She is extremely passionate about vocal technique. She began her singing journey in her Grandmother's voice studio in the Fine Arts Building in Chicago. She holds a 40 hour Voice Teacher Training and Certification through New York Vocal Coaching along with a BFA from NYU-Tisch School of the Arts and an MA from NYU-Steinhardt School of Education. She spent years learning how to tweak her classical technique to accommodate the rigors of high belting required to sing much of today's Broadway repertoire. Carla loves helping her students find their mix, belt, falsetto, twang and much more!

"I have been a professional piano-vocalist for 16 years and after undergoing surgery in 2015 to remove a cyst from my vocal cords, I needed a vocal coach who understood how to rebuild and protect my voice from future injury. Carla completely understood my needs and rather than imposing her own pre-formed structure on our lessons (as many other voice teachers do) has built each lesson, exercise by exercise around my needs. As a result, a year later my voice is much stronger than it was pre-surgery and I also have an increased range. I suffer much less vocal fatigue and my voice recovers considerably faster than it used to. I couldn't recommend Carla more highly to anyone looking for a superb coach - and in fact have recommended her to anyone who will listen including three colleagues who subsequently became her students. Thank you Carla for all you have done for me and I can't wait to continue our journey together."

"I've learned more from Carla in two lessons than I had in 7 years of training with multiple voice coaches in New York City. She has completely changed the way I sing and already I have seen a distinct improvement. No matter your natural ability Carla will turn you into a Broadway belter in no time!"

I am an actress and martial artist but have been wanting to overcome performance anxiety, including singing in public that I have dreamed of adding to future performances. Carla is so wonderful to work with. She is very understanding, nurturing and is able to explain things in a way that help me understand how to create the right sound. I have been finding this has eased my anxiety in performing not only with singing but in acting and has helped improve my way of speaking. Carla has opened my eyes to how my head, voice, but more importantly breathing are all related. I'm finding myself becoming more self-aware and find it absolutely amazing! I am very grateful to have been referred to Carla and highly recommend working with her.

"It had been a REALLY long time since I had sung, and I was nervous. But Carla was so supportive, knowledgeable, and fun! It was easy to find my voice again with her. I highly recommend her for new singers, someone returning to their craft, or if you are looking for a new and knowledgeable teacher. Thanks again Carla!"

She has given me the guidance and confidence to find my voice and I cannot thank her enough for that. Trust me, you’ll love her!”
